Edgar Weckert
Photon science
Edgar Weckert studied materials science at the University of Erlangen and habilitated in the field of crystallography. He joined DESY as Lead Scientist in 2000, took charge of the PETRA III project in 2004 and was appointed to the DESY Board of Directors in 2008. From January 2008 to December 2023, Edgar Weckert served as Director in charge of Photon Science at DESY.
