	The upper picture shows, among other objects, a well-aligned menhir near the Ardeche valley. The lower picture shows pp interactions at 24 GeV/c beam momentum in the CERN 2m hydrogen bubble chamber, taken around 1970. This picture demonstrates the large value of the total pp cross section.
