Summestudents 2009

Supervisor: Ingrid-Maria Gregor and Lukasz Maczewski

Topic: the ZEUS MVD Telescope (modernisation and upgrade)

The ZEUS MVD Telescope is a Silicon strip telescope build for the testing of the modules for the ZEUS micro vertex detector. Since a couple of years it is used by many groups as it gives information about the location of the test beam electrons in respect to their device under test. More details can be found here.

Recently the DAQ system of the telescope was upgraded to a modern system using a MVME6100 board computer and a standard Linux PC. This system was chosen as it is also the hardware used for the EUDET telescope and know-how on this system will be available for a number of years.

The tasks for summer 2009 are listed below. It is a long list of rather complicated task. We are not expecting that you do everything, it is only a list of possible tasks. There is a lot of overlap and you can combine the work were you like.
