Future Day at DESY Hamburg on April 3rd 2025
Aims of the DESY Future Day
On Future Day, 50 students will have the opportunity to get to know everyday working life in areas that they may not have considered for themselves before. This day of action for gender-sensitive professional orientation aims to contribute to expanding the traditional, gender-specific range of possible professions for women and men. Therefore, girls get to know technical and scientific workplaces at DESY, while boys get to know, for example, the personnel department and other administrative groups.
Program
As part of the program, the students learn more about our research center in an entertaining introductory event, experience a campus tour, have lunch together and then get to know a work area at DESY in more detail with a mentor. In order to make the program age-appropriate, our offer is aimed at students in grades 5-7.

Children of DESY employees
Children of DESY employees can spend their Girls and Boys' Day at DESY, provided that DESY employees have talked to their superiors. This means that the students can take part in the introductory event (DESY lecture hall, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.) and will then be picked up from the lecture hall by their relatives to spend the day with them at DESY. Children of DESY employees do not need an official place at the DESY Future Day and you do not have to contact us separately.
