Foundation "Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY"
DESY is fundamentally committed to promoting basic research in the natural sciences. The statutory purpose is realised in particular through the development, construction and operation of accelerators and their scientific use, research with photons and in the fields of particle and astroparticle physics, as well as development work related thereto. As a member of the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres (Hermann von Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren e.V.), the Foundation pursues long-term research and educational goals of the state and society and is involved in the funding procedure oriented towards these goals.
