Since October 2005 I was directeur de recherche of CNRS. Since
January 2007 I was physically at Astroparticules et Cosmologie
(APC), Universite Paris 7.
Since October 1st 1999 I am a
charge de recherche (permanent researcher) of the
French Centre
National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) first at the
Departement
d'Astrophysique Relativiste et de Cosmologie (DARC) of
the Observatoire de Paris-Meudon
and, since July 1st 2000, at the
Institute d'Astrophysique de Paris (IAP). I am working on
various problems of cosmology/astro-particle
physics together with local and external collaborators.
From 1996-1999 I was a Research Scientist at the
Physics
Department and the
Center for
Astronomy and Astrophysics
of the University of
Chicago, where I was also a Research Associate from
1993-1996 with a
Feodor-Lynen Research Fellowship awarded by the
Alexander-von-Humboldt-Stiftung
(see also the
Alexander von Humboldt Association of America).
I received my Ph.D. in 1993 from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität,
München, where I studied at the Fakultät für
Physik. From 1990-1993 I worked as a doctoral
student at the
Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, Werner-Heisenberg-Institut
together with Georg Raffelt and Leo Stodolsky, mostly at the
intersection of particle physics with astrophysics and cosmology.
I am member of the peer review and European roadmap committees of the Astroparticle Physics European Coordination (ApPEC).
