COFFEE MORNING
A coffee morning is held at DESY on every second Thursday of the month in the Lounge of Guest House I (tel. 8998 43 76) from 10H00 to 12H00. It provides an ideal opportunity to meet new and not-so-new members of the DESY community. Drinks and snacks are offered. Children are welcome but we suggest you bring a few toys to keep them occupied.
All DESY women and wives are invited to our next Coffee Morning which will be held on Thursday, 11 January 1996.
The hostesses this month will be Bella Amarian (Armenia) and Anna Karamian (Armenia).
Everyone is welcome -- especially newcomers!

PLAYGROUP
Are you new to DESY? Do you want to meet new people, exchange or receive information? If so, come to the DESY Kindergarten/Playgroup House on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 09H30 to 12H00 or call the Kindergarten & Playgroup House between these times on 8998 27 80. There are plenty of toys, sandpits and playground equipment and an international group of people speaking many languages. Although the playgroup is primarily intended for mothers with young children, any newcomer should come and gather useful information from those attending. Drinks are provided and a small contribution of DM 2.- is asked for each visit or DM 10.- per month. For more information please call Candy Palkovic.
Baby Playgroup: Wednesday afternoons, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A chance for the little ones (18 months or younger) to take over the floor and be social. Also a chance for moms to share the joys, tears, and tips of those first months. A great place for expecting moms to hear about the German experience from those who have just been through it. The Baby Playgroup will meet for the last time in 1995 on 13 December, and resume meeting on 3 January. Questions? Call Shari Weisend.
Reminder to all who use the playgroup building: The building is used by many people and it is very important to clean thoroughly before leaving. Please read the guidelines posted in the building, and make sure all toys are put away where they belong, trash is cleaned up, and floors are swept and mopped (when necessary) before locking up. Thank you for your help!

NEWSLETTER DEADLINE
If there is anything of interest happening in your area which you would like to share, or if you have any information that you would like to appear in next month's newsletter, please contact Martine Pasche Wagner, internal DESY mail F, or Nancy Hunter, internal DESY mail c/o B. Parker, MPY. The deadline for the January issue is 26 January 1996. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
Should you wish to receive a regular copy of this Newsletter, change address or no longer wish to receive the Newsletter, kindly inform us as soon as possible so we may make the necessary amendments to our mailing list.
The DESY newsletter is produced monthly by volunteers in co-ordination with the Guest Office. Since the present editors are sometimes out-of-town, we would like to hear from anyone with an interest to help with the workload and if necessary, assume responsibility for publication during our absence. Having a computer at home helps: access to a Macintosh is essential.
This publication is intended primarily for family members of newcomers to DESY, to Germany and to the German language. The opinion expressed in this Newsletter is not necessarily that of DESY. Information included is correct at going to print, but it can happen that information subsequently changes. We would therefore suggest that you call in advance to check and avoid a fruitless trip.
