DESY condemns the cruel murder of George Floyd and all forms of racism. “Discrimination based on skin colour, gender, ethnic origin, disabilities, sexual orientation or religion is unacceptable and we must not let it happen anywhere without words or action,” underlines Prof. Helmut Dosch, Chair of DESY's Board of Directors.

“We at DESY stand for open-mindedness and tolerance. At DESY, people from all over the world work together to solve the great questions and challenges facing humanity. For us, diversity is both a necessity and a strength.”

“DESY will work to ensure that the international research community positions itself even more clearly against racism and discrimination and promotes diversity in research.”
