For this measurement, we are using miniatures versions of the current test sensors. The sensors are read out with an Alibava analog readout system, based on Beetle readout chips. The Lorentz angle measurement will carried out for both non-irradiated and irradiated sensors to study changes of the Lorentz angle with irradiation. In order to keep to avoid unwanted annihilation of the radiation damage effects, the irradiated sensors will have to kept at a temperature of about -20 degrees. The student will work on the temperature effects on the calibration values of the Beetle chips in the Alibava readout system and the miniature sensors, using a radioactive source. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Physics / Computing/ Engineering Content of the project : The project consists in data taking using an Alibava readout system and the analysis of this data using C++ and ROOT. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Special Qualifications expected from the student ( Computing,...) : Basic knowledge of C++ programming and/or ROOT ------------------------------------------------------------------ Other remarks : ------------------------------------------------------------------- Supervisor(s) during the project (16/07/13 - 5/09/13) : Name: Eda Yildirim, Kerstin Tackmann, Ingrid Gregor Tel: 4670 email : eda.yildirim@cern.ch
