   Short description of the project the student should work on  :

   Combined alpha_s measurement using published H1 and ZEUS jet data.
   Fits with NLOJet++ and FastNLO. Estimation of uncertainties, test 
   of compatibility of the results, studies of the renormalisation and 
   factorisation scale dependence. Tests of different PDFs, estimation 
   of the PDF uncertainties on the alpha_s fits.
   The goal is to obtain a running of alpha_s plot with different values 
   of alpha_s at different scales.

  Basic understanding of QFT (or even better: QCD) and statistics,
