Our primary goal is the health of DESY employees, our campus partners and our guests. DESY's Corona Task Force has initiated a number of measures to reduce the risk of infection on the campus while maintaining, albeit reduced, scientific operations.

Persons who have stayed in one of the risk areas listed by the Robert Koch Institute (see below) in the last 14 days or have had direct contact with a person with a confirmed corona virus infection are not allowed to enter the DESY premises in Hamburg or Zeuthen. You are requested to contact the local health authority.

Current situation at DESY

Last Update: 06 April 2020 (Changes: risk areas)

To date, DESY has information on three people working on the DESY premises in Hamburg who tested positive for the corona virus COVID-19. The infected persons are in quarantine and DESY is in close contact with them. If further cases occur, DESY will immediately inform those who have been in closer contact with this person in order to ensure their well-being and self-isolation and thus protect their health and that of the communities in which they are located.

If you have stayed on a DESY campus and have any complaints typical of Corona, please contact as soon as possible.
