FORMATS

Since LATEX seems to be the text processing system most widely used in our community, the TDR will also be written in LATEX. The CDR style is used, the source file (master.tex) for this note and the related style files are available from the TDR Web page. Pictures have to be provided as Encapsulated Postscript (.eps) files. Contributions sent as plain text or WORD documents should remain rare exceptions! If pictures cannot be made availabe as eps-files, we can convert from other formats.

The TDR will be printed in colour, so authors are encouraged to use colour in figures, but please don't get carried away by using "light-green'' axis descriptions or so! Scanned-in coloured photographs will also make a nice appearance.

You can help facilitating the editing process by using a few standards. One concerns labels for internal cross-references. The section and subsection headings which are included in the source file of this note and from which the table-of-contents is produced have been given labels (get the file from the Web). Please use these labels if you refer to another section in the report (example: \verb! \ref{linac_beamdyn}! if you want to refer to the main linac beam dynamics). Also, give labels to figures and tables by using the section label and a reasonable abbreviation, example: \label{linac_supstruc_hom} labeling the table which contains higher order mode data for the superstructure.

SUBMISSION OF TEXTS

Written text and pictures should be sent by e-mail to (teslatdr.account@desy.de). In cases of exceptionally large files, we will have the option of FTP-transfer (in those cases contact the editors).
Once the material has passed through a technical check-list (LATEX processes without errors, pictures ok, references available, etc.) and through an editing process (which can affect both form and contents), we will post it on the Web. The TDR Web site is organized according to the structure of the report (table-of-contents). We plan to make written text, pictures and cited papers available in convenient formats. TDR material should not be "public'' during the writing and editing process. So, similar to the CDR, we make it accessible only with user ID and password via the TUOVI system.
