The ORANGE behaviour concerning the 6m tagger is controlled using three flags for
three different ntuple blocks:
- ORANGE-NTBLOCKS tg6raw : Provides access to 70 raw (ADC) channel signals, 70 calibrated channel signals and some additional information. See list of variables below.
- ORANGE-NTBLOCKS tg6true Provides access to MC truth information concerning energy and position of scattered electron in the tagger. See list of variables below.
- ORANGE-NTBLOCKS tg6recon Provides access to reconstructed energies and positions.See list of variables below.
Various methods based on sums over different numbers of cells etc. can be used to reconstruct
energy and position. For the time being, please refer to a
talk in the FL meeting,
pages 5-24 for more details.
Our recommendation, based on resolution studies, is to use method 1 (0 in C++ notation) for
the energy reconstruction and method 4 (3 in C++ notation) for the position reconstruction.
In case of energy reconstruction for MC-simulated data, please remember to
include this polynomial correction function.
- Block TG6RAW , variable t6raw(70): ADC signals of the 70 channels
- Block TG6RAW , variable t6clb(70): calibrated signals of the 70 channels
- Block TG6RECON , variable t6energy(3): three reconstructed energies
- Block TG6RECON , variable t6x(5): five reconstructed x positions
- Block TG6RECON , variable t6y(5): five reconstructed x positions
- Block TG6RECON , variable t6ene2:
- Block TG6RECON , variable t6hotx: x position of the hottest cell
- Block TG6RECON , variable t6hoty: y position of the hottest cell
- Block TG6RECON , variable t6ho2x: x position of the second-hottest cell
- Block TG6RECON , variable t6ho2y: y position of the second-hottest cell
- Block TG6TRUE , variable t6true_e: true electron energy (first true electron in FMCKIN)
- Block TG6TRUE , variable t6true_x: true electron x
- Block TG6TRUE , variable t6true_y: true electron y
- Block TG6TRUE , variable t6true_z: true electron z
- Block TG6TRUE , variable t6true_theta: true electron theta
- Block TG6TRUE , variable t6true_phi: true electron phi
- Block TG6TRUE , variable t6true_nel:
So far, the fiducial selection is based on the idea to exclude the first and last column of the tagger. In most cases the following cuts are applied:
- 6 < t6x(4) < 78 [mm]
- 2.5 < t6energy(1) < 9.5 [GeV]
However, you will have to modify these cuts according to your analysis aim and the special circumstances ... There is an effort to define better, more physics-driven cuts in the near future.
