The conference excursion is on the afternoon of Wednesday 23 May.
We shall leave DESY at about 1:30 pm by coach and visit the historic Dockland Warehouse District (Speicherstadt) in the former free port. Here we will have a guided walking tour and a guided tour of the Speicherstadtmuseum. Coffee and tea have been and still are important trading goods in the Port of Hamburg (and important fuel for physicists). In the museum, we will enjoy a professional coffee or tea tasting session (coffee or teak depending on group size, please indicate your preference on the registration page).
At about 6 pm we will take a boat tour of the harbor.
The conference dinner is on Thursday 24 May. It will take place on board of the Rickmer Rickmers, a historic sailing ship permanently anchored in the harbor. We will have the opportunity to visit the ship before dinner starts.
