Hello dear reader,
Markus Ball, angesehener Wissenschaftler
bei der Arbeit. this is my advanced try of a personal homepage. As I'm a PhD-student working at the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY), one big part of content in this page is related to either my personal work setting up a laser system at a Time Projection Chamber (TPC) or the work of my group Forschung (Reasearch) with Lepton Colliders (FLC), that's embedded in the global effort for an International Linear Collider (ILC). Nevertheless a not negligible part of this side is related to some private activities, that have of course an important meaning for me.

For more than eight years I'm practising Iaido. Iaido is the traditional art of japanese sword fighting. Since I've started in the year 1997 at an university course I've continued my Iaido activities first in the Hansa-Dojo, located in Hamburg and then in the new founded Dojo in Poppenbüttel under the supervision of my Sensei Conny Lockau. I also want to mention here his major support setting up the design and framework of this web page. Many thanks for that Conny.

Finally I want to summarize my cultural events, that reaches from the visits in a museum over my favorit clubs and restaurant in Hamburg to my latest comic book highlight.

So enjoy this webpage
