JAK: ``As a remark, it took some considerable pain to make this work. The larger sources, such as ftangle.web, had to be split into as many as 3 parts (handled by WEB macros and module names). The make file compiles each of those parts separately, then combines them at link stage. Before this was done, compilers tended to bomb with messages such as Out of heap space.''

On LitProg, Tero Laakkonen <laakkonen@cc.helsinki.fi> reported that FWEB also compiles under linux-096c with gcc-2.2.2 on a 80386.
