File names are anything that doesn't begin with a '-'. Options begin with a '-'. File names and options can be intermixed. The first file name encountered is the web file (source file); the second, if it exists, is the change file.

An option consisting of a lone hyphen stands for the special file name ``stdin'', which means ``read from the standard input.''

The web file is shown as required since one is normally processing a source. However, a few of the information options *Note Info options:: will work even in the absence of a web file.
