Isamu Abe Prize for Elke Sombrowski

Elke Sombrowski receives the prize from Mark Plesko from the organising committee of the conference.

The Isamu Abe Prize 2008 was awarded to accelerator physicist Dr. Elke Sombrowski. The DESY physicist received the prize end of October for the implementation of the so called Java DOOCS Data Display. This is a software package for graphical accelerator control applications. It is the successor of the DOOCS Data Display which is successfully used at FLASH since many years.

The Isamu Abe Prize recognizes innovative ideas, achievements and applications in the field of accelerator controls and it is granted every two years by the Personal Computer and Particle Accelerator Controls Workshop (PCaPAC).
