Christian Spiering is honored with the DESY Communication Award
On January 30, on occasion of the colloquium celebrating ten years of DESY Zeuthen, the Association of the Friends and Sponsors of DESY presented the DESY Communication Award for the first time. Dr. Christian Spiering, physicist and leader of the Zeuthen research team AMANDA/Baikal, was honored with the 3000 Euro award for his lively and fascinating way of presenting the research work of his team in the field of neutrino astrophysics in talks, articles and exhibition catalogues, for his intensive cooperation with the media and for his public talks depicting DESY's research work within a wider context. By this, Christian Spiering has contributed to kindle the public's interest for basic research in general, and for DESY's research more specifically.
