Theory SeminarGravitational Waves Constraints on Primordial Black Holes
Ao Wang (ITP Hannover)
Primordial black holes (PBHs), hypothesized to form from enhanced curvature perturbations in the early Universe, provide a unique probe of high-energy physics and remain a compelling candidate for dark matter. Several observational hints have emerged that may point to the existence of PBHs, including unexpected microlensing events and possible sub-solar mass black hole mergers. In addition to direct searches, Gravitational wave observations offer a powerful and indirect means to constrain PBH abundance, not only through merger events but also via the stochastic gravitational wave background induced by the primordial curvature perturbations required for PBH formation.
