Techniques and phenomenology of NNLO QCD calculations for LHC processes

Rene Poncelet

Abstract: Precision phenomenology of Standard Model processes is a staple of the LHC physics programme. Calculating higher-order corrections to tame theoretical uncertainties is necessary to profit from the ever-increasing experimental precision. In this presentation, I going discuss techniques for next-to-next-to-leading order QCD calculations and their applications to phenomenology. Specifically, I going to discuss the Sector-improved residue subtraction scheme and its application to three-jet production at the LHC. The talk will be concluded by a presentation of a new publicly accessible framework, HighTEA, which allows to store and reuse higher-order calculations efficiently.
