Back in 2019, our small factory choir had already planned that its next choir concert should deal with the topics of home, flight and peace - then Corona intervened, and choral singing suddenly became the most dangerous hobby in the world. We had to take a break for two winters, and even in the summer often only be able to sing outside and at a distance. But that only strengthened our lungs and and our hearing - and our motivation to be able to give concerts again at some point. to be able to give concerts again. In the meantime, we have resumed full rehearsals and finished rehearsing the pieces we had planned at the time. It was with some horror that we realised realise that the topic has become more topical than less in recent years and months. rather than losing relevance in recent years and months; it is despairing about humanity. But resignation is not a helpful state of mind, and for any topic, no matter how serious, the following applies serious topic: if you look at it musically, you can always find an aesthetic side to it. And alongside the serious themes, the aspect of home also brings cosy emotions to the programme. So we cordially invite you to an entertaining evening of choral music ranging from wistful to wistful to sentimental, from angry to satirical to committed. The genres covers folk songs and art songs as well as schmaltz, national anthems, spiritual songs of supplication for peace and popular music from the 1920s to the 2010s. Like last time, there will be two performances: The premiere is on Friday evening in the canteen annex on the DESY site; on Saturday afternoon we will give a guest performance in Saturday afternoon we will give a guest performance in Halstenbek and give a concert in the Erlöserkirche there. Admission is free on both occasions.
