Computation of non-singlet meson screening masses from low to high temperature

Mr Davide Laudicina (Università degli studi di Milano Bicocca)

We present a general strategy to study QCD non-perturbatively on the lattice at very large temperatures. The strategy we propose is built on a non-perturbative definition of the strong coupling constant which is used to renormalize the theory. As a first application we compute in the continuum limit the flavour non-singlet meson screening masses at 12 values of the temperature from T∼1 GeV up to ∼160 GeV in the chiral limit of QCD with Nf=3 quarks. We observe chiral symmetry restoration through the degeneracy of the pseudoscalar and the scalar masses and of the vector and the axial one. In the entire range of temperature the masses deviate from the free theory result 2πT by at most a few percent. However, even at the highest temperature we simulated our data cannot be explained by the one-loop perturbative result. This is evident by the mass splitting between the vector and the pseudoscalar masses which is clearly visible within our precision up to the electroweak scale.
