Helmut Dosch a Honorary Member of the Materials Research Society of India

DESY Director Helmut Dosch was appointed Honorary Member of the Materials Research Society of India (MRSI). The research society elected the solid state physicist at their annual meeting in February.

“For me this is a great honour and I accept the honorary membership with pleasure,” said Helmut Dosch. “The long-standing research in India in the field of materials research currently develops a dynamism acknowledged worldwide. I am glad that we now considerably extend our existing close collaboration with Indian scientists with the joint construction and operation of a beamline at our X-ray source PETRA III.”

The Materials Research Society of India was formed nearly 25 years ago to serve as a platform for scientists from all materials research sectors and as a drive for materials science and its wide spectrum of applications. Today, the MRSI counts almost 3600 members from India and other nations, its president Dr. G. Sundararajan is Director of the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy & New Materials in Balapur.
