HERA-Experiments Coordinator and Deputy
The HERA-Exp coordinator and his deputy are directly responsible
to the DESY-Directorate.
They are nominated for a period of 2 years by the DESY-Directorate in
consent with HERA and the HERA experiments.
The HERA-Exp coordinator is an ex-officio member of the PRC.
The tasks in general are:

coordinate and represent the needs and requests of the HERA experiments
towards HERA,
-
communicate the relevant information from HERA to the HERA experiments
and vice versa,
-
inform the DESY-DIR and the relevant committees (e.g. PRC) on the coordination
between HERA and the HERA-experiments.
Specific examples of coordination tasks are:
-
participate in the weekly HERA - HERA-experiments meeting; document and
make available the essential decisions of this meeting,
-
if required, or if requested by the experiments and/or the DESY-Directorate,
organise ad-hoc meetings, e.g. a specific task force,
-
organise (call, propose and distribute agenda, chair and write minutes)
of the large HERA coordination meeting (every 3 - 4 months),
-
coordinate the day-to-day requests e.g. maintenance days, mini-shutdowns,
running conditions and special runs, background studies, polarisation studies,
order of steps at run-start-up, etc.,

communicate information from HERA to the HERA experiments, like requests
for machine studies, special test and measurements, etc.,

serve as contact person for longer term questions and problems of the coordination
between HERA and the HERA-experiments,
-
prepare the relevant information for policy decisions of the DESY-Directorate
on running (like e+ versus e-)
