Minutes of HERA Meeting
09.04.2002
HERA
- The plan of last week was to increase the beam intensities and to
establish the procedures for luminosity operation. Good progress was made
until Saturday.
The luminosity files are not very reproducible. Beam orbits are now
compared instead of using the magnet settings. A vertical movement of
the IR bridges was observed by the wire alignment system, probably due
to temperature variations.
- The power glitch on Saturday caused severe problems. One of the HERA
RF transmitters and the timing system (PETRA and HERA) are not working
properly. Proton injection was not possible. HERA continued with positron
beam operation.
- Proton injection was established again just before the meeting.
ZEUS
- The movement of the GO magnet was measured during the access last Tuesday.
An additional support was designed and is being fabricated. The earliest
installation date is Friday or more likely early next week.
H1
- Was prepared to switch on detector components on Saturday when beam was
lost.
HERMES
- Was prepared to switch on detector components on Saturday when beam was
lost.
- The beam position and slope at the IP was set to the nominal value.
HERA B
- Requested four shifts of stable proton beam for data taking. Need
at least 60 bunches. Could run parasiticly. See ps file for details.
Schedule
- Re-start proton machine.
- Try to establish luminosity operation.
- The schedule for the weekend will be discussed Friday 15:00hrs, HERA control room.
- The next scheduled maintenance day is Tuesday 7.05.2002.
- H1 is the coordinating experiments.
