Minutes of the HERA Meeting
12.2.2002
- HERA:
- A new e+ optics with stronger vertikal focussing in GO and less
focussing in GJ was tested last Wednesday. The GO quad current
increases by about 10% to 572 A, which was reached at H1. The
ZEUS GO Quad quenched at 559A. To be investigated further.
- Repair of the proton cold drift section SR 165 m finished.
Cooldown started on Monday, takes 8-10 days.
- Interlock tests proceed faster than expected and can be
finished by the end of this week.
Interlock tests in Halls South and North on Wed 13.2.
- Positron beam studies start Friday night.
The immediate availability of the superconducting RF cavities
is not clear. First tasks are then GO studies and beam based
alignment at 12 GeV.
- A first attempt to achieve and observe longitudinal polarization
in Hermes will be made early next week.
- H1:
- The hydraulic moving system for GO and GG is not quite ready -
