HERA
- The repair of the damaged support of the proton beam pipe at SR130 is still
going on. It won't be finished this week.
- Positron beam machine studies have been performed during nights and
weekends starting last Thursday and will be continued until the repair
is finished. The present studies are done at injection energy. Acceleration
is not possible until the He flow/pressure at the super conducting
cavities is increased, will be done soon.
- The beam aperture in the arcs is presently limited to about 25%,
studies in progress.
- Several studies in order to improve the understanding of the
synchrotron radiation background will be done this week:
background conditions in forward detectors with improved shielding,
use large vertical beam tilts at BI magnet, movement of magnet
bridges.
- A ground fault of the GJ magnet SL was found on the weekend. It was
caused by lead wool, which was removed yesterday morning.
- The effect of moving the ZEUS F/RCAL will again be checked Friday
evening.
- Fabrication of the new collimators is progressing as scheduled.
