Minutes of HERA Meeting
8.04.2005
HERA
- The voltage measurements showed clear evidence for a broken BU coil
SR67. The time structure is the same as for the proton background
spikes.
The other BU coils SR and SL show no problems.
- The BU coils SR67 will be exchanged next week. The access will start
Monday at 07:00hrs. The present schedule is to finish the
work on Saturday. The goal is to restart proton operation on Sunday,
17.04.05. A final leak search will probably be done on Monday,
18.04.05.
- The GO/GG magnet will be warmed up for regeneration of NEG pumps.
- A new luminosity record of 4.5 10**31 cm-2 s-1 was achieved this morning.
Experiments
- There was no agreement for the HERMES proposal to do electron only
operation until Monday morning.
For the two fills last night the efficiency was 40% ZEUS and 0% H1 due
to proton background conditions.
For the present fill the efficiency is about 60%.
- The plan is to skip the maintenance day in May. In case the HERMES
ABS tube breaks, there will be a 4hrs access in order to exchange
the tube.
Schedule
- Luminosity operation until Monday morning. Beams will be dumped
around 6:30hrs. The access will start at 7:00hrs.
In case the proton beam is lost during the night shift Sunday-Monday,
HERA will continue with electron operation until the access.
- The plan is to skip the maintenance day in May.
- Changing the spin rotator positions will be done in early May.
