HERA
F.Willeke summarized HERA operation of last week
- Summary of cryo problems last week:
writeup by F.Willeke.
- Proton magnet power supplies SR were checked during the break. No
problems were found. A short in one of the BU magnets SR is a possible
source for the spikes.
- The proton orbit feedback will be used to stabilize the beam position
and hence reduce spikes due to orbit movements.
H1
- Spikes, causing CJC HV trips, were also present during the electron
only fill. The time structure was similar to the one of the
large proton spikes.
- The present fill had large synchrotron radiation background. It was
improved by orbit tuning.
ZEUS
- A 4krad dose was received in the MVD radiation monitor last night when
the electron beam was lost. The radiation monitor tripped and caused
some delay.
Schedule
- Continue luminosity operation with increasing bunch currents.
- The maintenance day next week was discussed. Regeneration of NEG pumps
in the north IR does not make much sense since the integrated electron
current is small. The date of the access will be fixed tomorrow.
-
HERMES is the coordinating experiment.
