Hera Coordination Meeting April 12th, 2000

All experiments are happy with the HERA performance and the general running
conditions and ready for a 9 month lumi upgrade shutdown starting in September.
 

e+/e- running in '00
--------------------

On the 20.12.99 in a meeting of the spokespersons and the directorate it has
been decided to switch to electrons after easter. This decision still holds. The
experiments have presented again their old and some new arguments and the
positions are unchanged (ZEUS: e-, H1/HERMES: e+). The discussion will continue
in the directorate.
HERA is prepared to switch on the May maintenance day (2.5.)  to electrons. They
need roughly 3 weeks to restart lumi operation on the 22.5. (1 week each for
optimizing all files, establishing smooth running and polarisation tuning). For
electron running HERA requests 1 day per week for machine studies.
