  Opening Session Welcome talk and personal Check-In
  with the DESY summerstudent team, please bring all the necessary documents mentioned in Administrative procedures with you.

• Travel reimbursement: Please hand in the reimbursement sheet at the DESY travel department: C. Tornau, and K. Koch, bld 7/401, Opening hours: tu - th, mornings and afternoonsq

• Tuesday 16 July, 18:30 - 22:30, DESY Canteen Extension bld. 9:
  Welcome Dinner with buffet and drinks
• Wednesday 17 July at 11:15, stairs at entrance to foyer of DESY auditorium: A photo of the summer students will be taken after the first lecture.


• Thursday 18 July, 6.00-7.30 pm, bld. 1b, SR4 (see map):
  Start of/and registration for German language course, voluntary, for interested persons. From the 2nd week on: Beginners (Advanced) courses on tuesdays (thursdays), 6.00-7.30 pm. Please find all info at German Language courses
  
• Monday 22 July 14:00 - 16:00 and Tuesday 23 july 14:00 - 16:00:
  Guided tour around the DESY site; meeting point: Foyer DESY auditorium We will split, 50 students will attend on monday (register here) and 50 on tuesday (register here), please register by friday 19 july.
• Monday 5 August 14:15-15:45 and Tuesday 6 August 14:15-15:45:
  Guided tour around the XFEL site in Schenefeld (experimental halls): We will split, 50 students will attend on monday and 50 on tuesday. Bus transporation will be provided. Further information will be provided by end of july.
• Friday 16 August ~18:30-22:30, canteen extension and terrace:
  Barbecue ponsored by PIER
