QCD microsurgery of hadrons at HERA via hard quasielastic processes. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Abstract: ========= The QCD factorization theorem for hard exclusive processes is considered. In the ``microsurgery" of a nucleon, a variety of skewed parton distributions are highlighted. Characteristics of basic features of hard exclusive processes at small and moderately small x are considered. Measurements of the electroproduction of pseudoscalar mesons and the extraction of the valence quark distribution of the spin of a nucleon are discussed as a probe of spontaneously broken chiral symmetry. Further topics will include the Colour Transparency phenomenon and new ideas of searching for glueballs, and of implanting strangeness into nuclei.
