Lepton Flavor Violation ======================= Andries van der Schaaf Zurich University Abstract: --------- Anomalies observed in solar and atmospheric neutrino data give strong evidence for neutrino masses and mixing. Lepton flavor would not be conserved. In this talk I will focus on lepton flavor violating processes involving muons: $\mu \to e \gamma$, $\mu \to 3e$, $\mu^+ e^- \leftrightarrow \mu^- e^+$ and particularly $\mu$e conversion in muonic atoms. Present and planned searches will be presented and the resulting constraints on physics beyond the standard model will be discussed. Some of these constraints, such as those on lepto-quarks and R-parity violation, appear complementary to those obtained at HERA. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- P.S.
