Engineering Data Management for the XFEL and PETRA III

The presentation illustrates how the information management needs of collaborative
engineering projects like XFEL and PETRA III can be satisfied with an engineering
data management (EDM) approach. First, some EDM key concepts and the architecture
of DESY´s EDM system are introduced. Then, the application of DESY´s EDMS is
demonstrated and discussed for selected examples, including document management,
CAD data management and quality assurance.
