IceCube Monte-Carlo-Production

The IceCube Neutrino Observatory is a cubic kilometre scale detector currently under
construction at the geographic South Pole. At the moment three quarters of the detector
have been completed and are already taking data.
Due to the huge background by atmospheric muons, Monte-Carlo-Simulations are mandatory to
extract signal events. After a short introduction to astroparticle physics and the
IceCube-Detector, I will give an overview of the needed simulations and the organisation
of the Monte-Carlo-Production by IceProd. This tool, designed for the IceCube
collaboration, allows the simulation on local batch clusters as well as in the GRID.
