Three Findings and Five Puzzles

Tim Linden

Observations by the HAWC and H.E.S.S. telescopes over the last decade have revealed a large population of spatially extended TeV emission surrounding both young and middle-aged pulsars. These sources, known as TeV or Pulsar Halos, appear to be plentiful throughout the Milky Way. I first review the current status of TeV halo observations and models, and then discuss five key puzzles which will allow us to both better understand the TeV halo population, and to utilize TeV halos to better understand cosmic ray acceleration and propagation throughout the Milky Way.
