Resolving left-hand cut issues in the Lüscher scattering formalism (2/12)

André Baião Raposo (University of Edinburgh)

The well-known Lüscher method is widely used in extracting scattering amplitudes from finite-volume spectrum data. Recent lattice QCD calculations involving systems in which a lighter particle can couple to heavier scatterers (e.g. nucleon-nucleon, DD* scattering) have highlighted some limitations of this standard formalism when continued far enough below the two-particle threshold. This is due to the presence of left-hand cuts in the angular-momentum-projected scattering amplitudes. In this talk, I describe a relativistic model-independent extension of the existing formalism, which circumvents these issues. I discuss also the full workflow for extracting scattering amplitudes and its implementation
