Towards the era of high-energy neutrino astronomy with P-ONE and PLEnuM

Lisa Schumacher

The field of high-energy neutrino astronomy undoubtedly started with the discovery of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos by IceCube. However, the current observation rate of astrophysical neutrinos in the TeV-PeV energy range remains low, leaving open questions about the sources of high-energy neutrinos in our Galaxy and beyond. This observation rate will strongly improve as additional neutrino telescopes in the Northern Hemisphere come online and grow in the next years. In this talk, I will present the status and prospects of the Pacific Ocean Neutrino Experiment (P-ONE). Located off the coast of Vancouver Island in the Pacific Ocean, P-ONE will complement the field of view of KM3NeT in the Mediterranean Sea and IceCube at the South Pole. In addition, I will illustrate the concept of the Planetary Neutrino Monitoring network (PLEnuM) to show that the strength of the new neutrino telescopes will lie in their complementarity and their combined exposure.
