Learning from London: a legacy of riverside parks and gardens

Eva Henze (guests are welcome)

Rivers are the cradles for most cities in the world - providing drink, food and transport. They also shape landscapes and people. This talk is inspired by the Thames Landscape Strategy - a 100-year plan for the River Thames between Hampton Court Palace and Kew. Based on the river’s fascinating historic, cultural, natural and recreational associations, the talk highlights parallels to Hamburgs western suburbs on the Elbe with their parks and gardens and is an invitation to look at well-known places afresh.
