Foreigners in London 1570 – 1677: the artists who changed the course of British art

The lecture will trace foreign artists from the Tudor period, through the Renaissance and Baroque looking at how they came to work in England – it will examine the contributions of artists such as Holbein, van Dyck and Rubens to name a few and look at how they influenced the British School of painting.
