Travel Grants

Back to main page

Support to attend the workshop (if approved by the funding agency DFG) will be available for a limited number of people to enable people with restricted travel budgets to attend the meeting. The policy for support is as follows:

  1. Participants WITH an accepted talk:

The grant will cover the Workshop fee, accommodation in the DESY hostel, a per diem for the 4 days of workshop attendance, and transportation to and from DESY (up to a maximum of 1000,- DM)

  2. Participants WITHOUT any talk:

The grant will cover the Workshop fee, accommodation in the DESY hostel, and a per diem for the 4 days of workshop attendance. Due to limited support by the DFG, travel expenses CANNOT be covered in these cases.

Since the documentation regarding application for financial support has to be given to the DFG early on, we encourage interested people to contact the  organizers  as soon as possible, but no later than June 29 . It will most likely be impossible to consider applications after this deadline !

So, to make sure that you will be considered for a travel grant, please do the following:
  1. Register before June 29.
  2. Send a mail to the organizers before June 29 stating that you would like a travel grant.
  3. Submit your abstract and 1-page summary, and fill in the web form
on the specifics of your test(s) before June 29, if you want support for transportation.

(Please note that June 29 is the general deadline for abstract submission, anyway. Only if you do NOT plan to give a talk, and only want a travel grant that does NOT cover transportation, you may omit step 3. It does NOT mean that you may submit abstracts after the June 29 deadline. The June 29 deadline for abstract submissions applies to all talks, regardless of travel grants.)

Without completion of all required steps by June 29, the organizers cannot contact the funding agency and obtain support for you. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding !
